Researcher to Artisan Talents Discovered

“Sometimes what we think is the worst trial in our life turns out to be a gift of discovering talent we never knew we had” Dr. J. Waite

Dr. Waite survived a traumatic brain injury. After being a high-level international researcher, she suffered a fall, eliminating her ability to read, comprehend, and concentrate. She was forced into early retirement from her incredible research career.

Early in her life she was a member of Pony Club showing in 3-day events and riding dressage on the Jr Olympic team as an alternate. She then transitioned to reining, reined-cow, and cutting, achieving top 10 APHA status as a non-pro.

Through her formative years and even today her best friends are her dogs and horses. She studied their movement, their grace and magnificence, it all became etched in her mind. The information from years of studying animals blossomed when science was no longer her mind’s focus.

The discovery of her unique talent came upon advice from her Traumatic Brain Injury physician. When it was clear Dr. Waite would no longer do her scientific research work, she grew disheartened. In the face of despair, her alert traumatic brain injury doctor suggested she try painting as a form of therapy. Little did either one of them know the talent that was hidden beneath.

Dr. Waite only commissions originals, no prints or copies, ensuring unique work and protecting your investment. Her talents include commissioned wildlife, ranch and farm animals, dogs and horses. Her paintings adorn the homes of athletes to animal enthusiasts. Dr. Waite has made a commitment to the privacy of her commissioned work clients.
